Johtaja etsii kuoroa

My name is Robert Cowles, and I am an American choral conductor who will be a Fulbright Scholar at Sibelius Academy during the 2014–15 academic year. In the United States I normally serve as Professor of Music at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York (http://www.hws.edu/academics/music/facultyProfile.aspx?facultyID=79), and I also am Artistic Director of the Syracuse Vocal Ensemble (www.SyracuseVocalEnsemble.org).

While I very much look forward to my work experience at SibA, I hope to find additional professional opportunities during my year in Finland; as such, I would welcome having guest conducting experiences in or near Helsinki. I am especially looking for mixed choruses to direct, although men’s or women’s voices would be possible as well. I am flexible about repertoire choices, although for obvious reasons it might make the most sense for me to present programs of American choral music in particular.

Please contact me at if you wish to receive a copy of my professional CV and/or discuss this possibility further. Thank you for your consideration.
